We urge you to help the West End!

THE CITY OF VANCOUVER LAUNCHES THE WEST END COMMUNITY PLANNING PROCESS THIS MONTH!

BE SURE TO GET INVOLVED!

Concerned about the cost of rental housing in the West End? Feeling squeezed by the increasing pressure on community amenities like the library and recreation centre? Worried that the unique character of the West End is going to be lost in the face of increasing development pressure?

The City of Vancouver is launching the 21 month long West End community planning process this month.  NOW is the chance for West End seniors to get involved and ensure their interests and concerns are heard by the planners leading the process.

You will have four opportunities this month to get involved:

Thursday May 10th, 7:00-10:00 pm. Storytelling launch event, “There’s no place like home,” Denman Cinema (1779 Comox Street).

If an evening event isn’t your cup of tea, you will also have a choice of attending one or more of the Community Open Houses taking place this month:

  • Saturday, May 12, 11am-3pm at the Best Western Sands Hotel, 1755 Davie St
  • Tuesday, May 15, 4-8pm at the Empire Landmark Hotel, 1400 Robson St.
  • Thursday, May 17, 4-8pm at the Central Presbyterian Church, 1155 Thurlow St

WESN urges its members to get involved in the West End planning process. The community plan that results from this process will lay the foundations for how our community changes and grows over the next decades. Get your friends and neighbours together and make it a group effort!
