Members Birthday Tea
Birthday Teas are held on the 3rd Monday of every month for members who have their birthday in that particular month. For $2, you can attend the birthday tea and will be served tea, cake and other goodies, in a friendly and sociable atmosphere. This event is by invitation only.
The Strawberry Festival
The Strawberry Festival is one of WESN’s major annual events that regularly attracts over 500 people from all over the world to Barclay heritage square. It celebrates the beginning of summer with craft sales, bocce and croquet games, live music and of course, strawberries! With the help of our members, many volunteers and support from the West End community we offer our guests delicious baked goods, strawberry shortcake and the chance to win many prizes from our Strawberry Festival Raffle. The event takes place on the fourth Saturday of June in Barclay Heritage Square and Barclay Manor.
Rotary Club Luncheon
The Rotary Club in Vancouver is a service club committed to enhancing the quality of life for its community. Each year the Rotary Club and the West End Seniors’ Network work together to provide around 300 WESN members with an elegant lunch held at the Westin Bayshore Hotel. The Holiday Luncheon is a very exciting event for our members, many of whom do not have other seasonal invitations. A large number of our members live on fixed incomes, so this is a very special opportunity for them to enjoy an elegant dinner in the company of friends.
Volunteer Appreciation
Every year, we thank our volunteers by holding a Volunteer Appreciation Party. This party is an acknowledgement of how important volunteers are for our organization, and how much we value the help we receive from all of the generous people who donate their time. The theme of the party varies from year to year, but is always a well attended and fun social event. Eligible volunteers are awarded service pins and certificates in recognition of the amazing work they do for us.
Cancellations
While we never want to cancel events if we can help it, we need a minimum number of attendees to run monthly events. Please register early if you are interested in attending and we will notify you if there is any change to the scheduling.
