INFORMATION AND REFERRAL SERVICES
Kay’s Place volunteers provide visitors and telephone callers to Kay’s Place with a friendly welcome and information about various Federal, Provincial and other community programs and services available to seniors. When required, volunteers can also assist with filling out application forms or performing other chores that fulfill the mission statement of the West End Seniors Network.
Information and Referral:
The information and referral process helps match people with services. The volunteers act as intermediaries, matching the person with the necessary combination of human services that will address the individual’s needs. People turn to I & R services when they need help and the volunteers on hand give them the direction they need.
Information and Referral provides:
- an access to the human services system
- basic service without charge
- assistance by trained I & R volunteers
- alternatives to the client
- confidential services
- "education" about how the service system works
